    BANK TRANSFERS

From Friday afternoon 15th March - Monday 18th March 2024, the European SEPA Payment Schemes will undergo a mandatory change.  All Irish banks and credit unions may experience delays in payment processing over this weekend.  As a result, SEPA payments (Euro payments across Ireland & the EU) made on Friday 15th may not be credited to the beneficiary account until Monday March 18th and may not appear in customer accounts over the weekend as is the case normally.  The Irish Banking Community advise all customers to make payments on Thursday 14th March or early Friday morning 15th March to ensure that the beneficiary account is credited on Friday

PHISHING SCAM TARGETING CREDIT UNIONS

We have been informed that there is currently a phishing scam targeting credit union members.

Members receive an email from the email address creditunion@online.ie or one similar to this.  The email will inform the member of a file named "Payment Confirmation" that's been transferred to them through a site called WeTransfer, by what appears to be your Credit Union, and will be encouraged to click to download the files.

This scam is designed to collect your personal details with a view to gaining access to personal financial accounts.

Please note the credit union does not request personal details by email from its members or use any third party websites to collect members details.  If you receive an email similar to the one outlined above , please ignore it.
